You upload or paste your DNA test results from services like 23andMe, AncestryDNA, or SecuriGene. Our algorithms analyze three DNA data types — STR markers (forensic identity profile), mitochondrial DNA sequences (HVR-1 and HVR-2), and coding region — then map each data point to musical elements. STR allele numbers become rhythm patterns and tempo, mitochondrial nucleotides (A, T, G, C) map to melody notes, coding region shapes the harmonic palette, and mtDNA variations create accent points and key changes. The result is a composition that is mathematically unique to your DNA, with every note traceable to a specific data point.

LifeSong works with all major DNA providers including 23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTreeDNA, MyHeritage, and SecuriGene lab reports. We accept three input methods: file upload (.txt, .csv, .fasta, .json, .pdf), direct text paste, and QR code scanning. Our parser auto-detects which DNA data types are present in your file — STR profiles, mitochondrial sequences, and/or coding region data.

Yes. You can choose from 12+ genres (Ambient, Classical, Jazz, Cinematic, Folk, Rock, Electronic, Pop, World, New Age, and more) and 5 mood settings (Calm, Hopeful, Triumphant, Bright, Deep). You can also select specific DNA regions to drive the composition, or use our one-click "AI Auto-Pick" mode that deterministically derives the ideal genre, mood, and region selection directly from your genetic data. Premium packages include seasonal variants (Christmas, Wedding, Memorial) generated from the same DNA.

Yes — our Family & Couple Composition feature lets you combine DNA from 2 or more people into a single composition. Each person's DNA drives a different instrument or musical track, creating a harmonious blend that represents your family or partnership. This is especially meaningful for couples, parent-child tributes, or multi-generational family legacies.

Your privacy is our top priority. All DNA sequences are encrypted with AES-256-GCM encryption at the application layer before storage. Row Level Security in our database prevents any user from accessing another user's data, even via direct database queries. Your genetic data is never shared with third parties, and you can delete your data at any time from your account settings.

Absolutely. Every LifeSong comes with a full traceability timeline that maps each musical decision to its DNA source. You can see how your STR repeat counts at specific loci became rhythm patterns, how mitochondrial variations at positions like 263 (A→G) influenced melody choices, and how your coding region's GC content shaped the harmonic texture. The composition detail page offers bidirectional linking — click any DNA region to hear what it sounds like, or click any musical moment to see its DNA source.

The Base Package ($799+) includes 2 songs (a DNA-inspired original plus a mood variant), streaming access, and a printable mapping report showing how your DNA became music. The Premium Package ($1,500+) includes 4+ songs plus a Legacy Mix (full production), seasonal/occasion variants, interactive multi-track player access with per-track volume and mute controls, downloads in MP3, WAV, and MIDI formats, and a shareable experience link to let loved ones listen without creating an account.

Most compositions are generated within minutes. You can watch the pipeline progress in real-time on your dashboard: Reading DNA → Mapping to Notes → Generating MIDI → Rendering Audio → Applying AI Refinement. Premium compositions with multiple songs and seasonal variants may take slightly longer. You'll receive email notifications at each stage.
